Flower City's Best Five-- Brampton, Ontario's Top 5 Communities!

Brampton Ontario

Hailed as Canada's ninth-largest municipality, Brampton, better known as "Flower City," has developed into one of the most famous living destinations in the country due to its peaceful streets and array of recreational facilities. In fact, its population has increased by over 20% over the last decade, and it's now home to over 600,000 people!

The city, boasting 4,110 hectares of parkland, 835 parks, open spaces and valley lands, 328 sports fields, 279 kilometers of recreational trails, 13 spray pads, six community gardens, four leash-free areas, and more than 25 community centers, is located about 40 kilometers northwest of downtown Toronto, right by Toronto Pearson International Airport.

With a convenient location, a smorgasbord of recreational opportunities, and numerous communities ranging from urban to suburban, and some rural-esque areas, it's no wonder Brampton is one of the choice cities for families and young professionals alike.

Read on to find out about our five top Brampton neighborhoods.

Downtown Brampton

Downtown Brampton

Known as one of the oldest city sections, Downtown Brampton, as its name implies, is Brampton's downtown core but offers a unique feel that differs from the usual expectations of a downtown neighborhood.

The area nestles between Etobicoke Creek, McMurchy Avenue, Sproule Drive/Rosedale Avenue, and Harold Street, boasting densely tree-lined streets, historical landmarks, and heritage properties showing its Victorian roots. In true downtown fashion, Downtown Brampton features a wide array of restaurants, parks, entertainment, cultural do's, retail staples, and fashion outlets, with the Peel Art Gallery, Museum, and Archives (PAMA), Garden Square, the Farmers and Harvest market taking the lead.

Commuting into and out of Downtown Brampton is easy, thanks to the GO Station. Being a key transport hub, you'll find GO trains, Brampton Transit buses, and VIA Rail.

In this area, the average price of houses is $561,100, which is lower than the rest of Brampton.

Bramalea

Bramalea Brampton

Another one of Brampton's oldest communities and one of the largest, Bramalea earns a spot on the list of the Flower City's best neighborhoods.

Covering Highway 410, Bovaird Drive, Airport Road, and Steeles Avenue, Bramalea is home to the Chinguacousy Wellness Center and Bramalea Civic Centre and boasts shopping malls like the Trinity Common and Bramalea City Centre. It also offers local recreational spots like the Bramalea Community Park, Professors Lake, Chinguacousy Park, and an array of fitness centers.

Aside from these amenities, Bramalea is known for its vast range of housing stock not commonly found in a single neighborhood, which includes everything from townhomes and quaint detached houses to executive homes, condominiums, and high-rise rental apartment buildings. Buying a home in this area will cost you close to $700,000.

Since there's a route to the Bramalea Go Station and Bramalea Bus Terminal, buses in and out of the area are plentiful.

Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant Brampton

If you prefer fresh produce from the market rather than doing your grocery at the shops, Mount Pleasant is the right fit for you!

A new Brampton community renowned for its Thursday Farmers’ Market during the summer, Mount Pleasant is comprised of streets between Mayfield Road, Mississauga Road, Bovaird Drive, and Creditview Road. Famous for its pedestrian-friendly streets and neighborhood amenities within reach, transport in the area is no hassle, whether within the community or otherwise.

Amenities in the area include the Buick Park and Skatepark, a village square, the community center, and library, the Apple Factory Farm Market, and Cassie Campbell Community Centre, and the average price of houses is $700,000.

Heart Lake

Heart Lake Brampton

Offering a slower-paced environment and residents who prefer to spend time amongst nature, Heart Lake occupies the area between Conservation Drive/Wanless Drive, Heart Lake Road, Highway 10, and Bovaird.

The "outdoorsy" neighborhood is highly-coveted for its extensive amenities, including Loafer's Lake recreation center, Heart Lake, excellent trails for walks or biking, treetop trekking, Turnberry Golf Club, and Cyril Clarke Library. Heart Lake also has shopping malls like Trinity Common and Silver City Brampton within its vicinity and farmers' markets, Downey's, and Broadway.

The most visible housing types in this part of Brampton are single detached homes and townhouses, and you'll need approximately $550,000 to become a Heart Lake homeowner.

Vales of Castlemore

Vales of Castlemore

Vales of Castlemore is one of the more modern Brampton neighborhoods to consider, especially for young families looking for primary schools and establishments that are within reach.

A neighborhood highly coveted for its relaxed ambiance, Vales of Castlemore boasts detached homes with perfectly manicured lawns within well-planned streets. It is also known as one of the safest neighborhoods in the area and the best fit for children for its numerous parks and green spaces. Vales of Castlemore is also near the Claireville Ranch and Claireville Conservation Area, where you can go exploring.

The homes in Vales of Castlemore are some of the newest and largest Brampton has to offer, and buying property in this area will set you back roughly $600,000.
